6/7/2023 0 Comments Di2 battery status![]() I plan on taking it to my LBS and getting them to link it up to E-tubes and remove the non-existent front mech from the set up. I am fairly certain it is the first suggestion, since I have made an effort to ensure I park up with the chain in the middle of the block it has been fine, I did leave it overnight once at the top of the block and the following morning it was down to 50% - but that was the only issue I had since this thread when I started avoiding that. I have narrowed it down to a couple of possibilities:ġ: I strongly suspect it is that I was parking up with the chain in one of the top two sprockets and as such the Di2 system was trying to trim the front derailleur (which isn’t there because I unplugged it and poked the wire back into the frame.Ģ: Rear mech not indexed correctly and the rear mech was trying to shift repeatedlyģ: Using the front mech shifter (I have the older two button shifters) to check the battery and making the system try and move the front mech repeatedly even though there is no mech for it to move It is not possible that the shifter is being pressed - I only have shifters in the extensions and there is nothing near them (I know this is the obvious cause)Ĭould it be that I am cross chaining when I get off the bike and this it putting pressure on the rear mech making it try and shift/thinking it is shifting?ĭo I need a new battery? The person I bought the bike of said it had recently been changed - but I have no way of verifying that.Įdit - An important point I neglected to include is that I removed the front derailleur to run a 1X set up, I did not disconnect the wire from the FD to the B junction box - a friend has suggested that this may be the source of the issue ![]() It is not like the battery is gradually discharging it goes from full to flat overnight or in a day or two - despite being fully charged beforehand and not losing any change of the previous few weeks. This afternoon I jumped on the bike and it was completely flat - no indication at all when tested. I have been monitoring the charge levels using the indicator on the junction box and it has been showing as fully charged (green light) every time I have checked - including in the middle of this week. My Di2 battery appears to lose charge very quickly - roughly on a monthly basis - however it appears to happen very quickly.
